Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

Saturday was a fabulous day at the park and a fabulous day for an early Easter celebration.  We participated in a great event that supported some great local artist and moms showing off their stuff and having a great time.  Lots of families came out and there were egg hunts for all the kids.  Music lessons, book reading, french lessons, food sampling, and of course delicious sweats from My Sugar Scape and a fabulous table to go along with them!

Here are some pictures of our table from the day.  With the sun shining and the beautiful park, we thought the table had a stunning setting and made a fantastic appearance.

Flapper Lounge

We had a great time last night at a client appreciation event.  We put a little twist on our Speakeasy table and created a night for the ladies at our Flapper Lounge.

We added pearls and feathers to make this classy table look like a ladies party straight out of the 1920's.  We created chocolate covered Oreos with martini decorations, cupcakes, cake bites, chocolate mouse served in martini glasses, gold dusted cake pops, chocolate raspberry cups, and jars filled with coordinating colored candy.  It truly made the room pop with creativity and color.  The guest had some great comments for us and since we love vintage we LOVED the way it all came together.

Thank you to all the clients who turned up last night, it was a fun evening!  Here is our dessert table.

Calling All Princesses, We Have A Royal Ball For You!

We had a ball just creating the design and goodies for this truly royal event.  The princess and guest had a fabulous time at the event and we were honored to help create some sweet memories for the family and birthday girl.  The main color panel was pink and purple with hints of bright yellow worked in.  We used the princess printable collection by the amazingly talented Bird of Bird Crafts.  The design and food was all from My Sugar Scape.  Enjoy!

Marshmallow pops were dipped in purple chocolate then sprinkled with the royal party colors pink and yellow.

Sweet treat bags were adorned with Bird Craft printables as well as adorable photo Thank You cards of the Princess herself.

We added flag tipped fruit kabobs as a healthy option for the little ones.

Apothecary jars filled with yogurt wishing stars were scooped out by all the young princesses.

The birthday princess' favorite snacks were included in the dessert table theme.

Chocolate covered Oreos created to match the theme colors were personalized with the birthday princess' initial.

Princess and castle cut outs from Bird Craft princess printable package were used to decorate guest tables.

Signs were created for craft, photography, and beverage stations.

We made a customized banner for the birthday girl complete with her 2nd year photo shoot images and event name.  It truly made the table hers and tied all the pieces together.

We love how everything turned out!  The theme, colors, and food all came together to truly represent what the family had in mind for their daughters 2nd Royal Ball.

A fun contest with some of our fav vendors happenin on over at Oh Fiddlesticks, ya'll check it out!

The Princess and The Speakeasy

This basically describes my life the past few weeks.  We are working on two big events for the next two weeks, a most darling princess party and a Speakeasy school auction.  One minute I am working on castles, gems, and ribbon the next I am collecting martini glasses and wine crates.

It has been so much fun and we can't wait to see the end result.  Here is a little princess sneak peek.  So cute, and they are not even filled yet.

It feels like we just had Christmas and now we are already planning for Spring and Summer.  Please keep us in mind for any birthday's or baby showers that you might be planning.  And remember to get your Spring and Easter photos taken early by Hold 'Em Photography and My Sugar Scape will create some fun party props for your family.

Easter Dessert Table Fun with Printables and Cookies

We had a lot of fun mixing in some of our antique pieces for our Easter photo party.  The printables are by Anders Ruff,  two ladies who do an amazing job on all things fun, pretty, and completely amazing!

The super adorable cookies were delivered by Carries Cookies and Confections.  She supplied so many great styles and designs that we had to use all of them.

And the photography was by Hold 'Em Photography.  The day turned out perfect, no rain, no cranky kids...what more could you want??

We hope you liked the way it all came together and would love to read your comments or any suggestions you might have for us.  And remember we can also put together some fun tablescape photo props for you if you book a session with Hold 'Em Photography.

Winding down the week..

And oh what  a week it has been!  Husband traveling, kids off school, Easter table madness......  Anyway thanks for hanging in there with us.  We really appreciate all your feedback and help in participating in our give away.  I think starting a business can be compared to being a mom in some ways.  It is much more difficult when you actually get in to it, and there is no manual on creating success (at least not overnight success).  So, one step at a time and we'll get there.  Our kids have survived until now, right???

We are looking forward to a brighter next week after all this rain.  Our Easter party will be outside so we need all the sun we can get.  Speaking of Easter, if there are any traditions you would like to share with us we would love to hear them.  In addition any ideas or wishes you would have for an Easter themed party or dessert table.  I know a lot of you out there have some great ideas and I would LOVE to hear them.

Post your ideas below and we'll see if we can implement some of them.

Thanks for reading!

So Many Inspirations

We are wrapping up Valentine's Day today with our "We Heart Valentine's" table display.  We are excited for the party and for the guest feedback.

Starting tomorrow, yes on Valentine's Day, we begin planning our Easter table.  Below is a picture of some of my favorite items that I am drawing on for inspiration.  We want to have a vintage, outdoor table setting that highlights some fabulous desserts set amongst antiques, vintage clothing, whimsical frames (because I love photography of course), and of course lovely, playful children.  Just need to pull it all together.  I'll post updates this week and next.

New Finds

Today turned out to be an antique shopping day, who knew????  My business buddy, Meredith of course, must of woke up with the same thought in mind as me.  Something white, old, rusted, and vintage.  This is what we found!  And they go great together if I do say so myself.

What does this have to do with My Sugar Scape and dessert tables you ask???  Oh, just wait.  We have all kinds of fun ideas in mind.  I am not supposed to say anything, but I'll give you a little hint - Vintage Easter.  Our weary (but brilliant:)) mommy brains are already churning with ideas and plans.  That is all I'll say for now, more to come in the coming weeks.

Now I have to turn my attention to my little darlings stuffies that are armless, headless, tailless and some body less.  Yes the pile has grown and each night I promise to fix them.  The complaint department got filled today, so I better bust out the one needle and black thread I have and get to work.  Thank goodness kids are not picky about things looking perfect.  I am so bad at sewing it is a wonder I even get the right body parts back in the right spots.  Of course everything has black thread so it stands out looking terrible.  But I guess as long as it smells the same (yes, my kids smell everything they cuddle with) and is still soft and squishy, we are good.

Bowls, Bowls, Bowls

I strongly dislike bowls.  No I am not talking about the ones you serve your little ones in and have to clean all day.  If your husband zones out in front of the T.V. this time of year, you know exactly what I am talking about. Football bowls.  I apologize to all those ladies (and guys if there are any reading this), but the whole football thing drives me crazy.  It is not the actual game that I dislike, but rather what it does to my husband.  And seriously how many bowls do we need to have.  Of course we all know the Fiesta, Sugar, Rose Bowl.  But Sun, Gator, Liberty, Little Ceasars, Beef O Bradys, and my all time favorite - The Humanitarian Bowl, there is just nothing humanitarian about it.

So for all you who can't stand football season leave a post below and let us know what happens in your household.  For those of you who embrace it and love it, please post a comment below and help us do the same!

Also, we are launching our first contest tomorrow.  Every other Tuesday will be Tantalizing Tuesday.  So tune in tomorrow to check it out.

I'd Trade My Husband for a Housekeeper

Life got hectic the past few weeks, but we are back.  I am going to commit to posting updates on My Sugar Scape and life everyday, well almost everyday.  Between the husband traveling, the kids schedules, school volunteering etc....you all know how that goes.  I know I don't need to explain it to you:)

Right now I am officially little girl proofing my office so my little one can now hang out in here with me as I try to work.  Much better then running up and down stairs every few minutes or chasing her around trying to keep her off the stairs.  As I type she is finding cords I thought were well hidden.  When she is on my lap banging on the keyboard is her favorite past time.  But this is what we do as moms, juggle and make it all happen.  I stopped at the park the other day to kill some time before my son's doctor appointment.  It was like going to a mommy convention.  Mommies with toddlers, mommies with babies strapped on them, mommies with strollers......  They all had the same look on their face - I'm tired, I need a break, I hope my kids get worn out so he'll nap, I hope my kid doesn't hit that other kid.  It was a sea of moms and babies.  I thought to myself is this what I have become????  Is that me?  And the answer is - yes.  I am no different then those other moms.  In some ways that worries me because I am not the same person I was before kids, but in other ways I embrace it.  I love my kids, but that doesn't mean the job is easy.

On that note I found a hilarious, but resourceful book the other day.  It is called I'd Trade My Husband for a Housekeeper.  I have just started reading it and just have to say that we all need to give ourselves more credit and more breaks.  For my local friends I am more then happy to pass it around once I am done.  Let me know who wants it first.  I think I may actually start a support page in the book where each mom that reads it can write a sentence or phrase of support before passing it along.  Once the book comes full circle it would be great to see what everyone has written.

Okay, that's it.  Baby is crying and I have to sign off.  I am not a writer but I am making it a challenge to post as much as possible on our blog.   As for My Sugar Scape we are still working on our contest and I am hoping to have something in place next week.

Thanks for reading!
